Mother seeks answers after son shot in deadly carjacking
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It has been more than forty eight hours and there are still no answers about Charlotte’s latest homicide.
April Moseley is heartbroken over the murder of her son, 23-year-old Joshua Burris.
«He was loved by everyone, so I don’t understand why anyone would want to do this to my baby,» Moseley said. «Joshua was a good-hearted person. He was a good father. He left behind a little female. Her name is Amira.»
The family is fighting through their trouble to find answers.
«I’m asking the public for their help,» Moseley said. «If they know anything about my little boy, Joshua Burris, please come forward. I am begging you to please come forward and tell me anything.»
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating Burris’s death as the city`s 57th homicide of the year after a shooting Friday morning that left him dead and a woman hurt in east Charlotte.
Officers were called around two a.m. to the parking lot of the Meadowbrook Apartments on Ginger Lane, off Grier Road near WT Harris Boulevard.
When they arrived, police found Burris and a woman who had been shot.
The duo were taken to the hospital, where the Burris was pronounced dead.

Paramedics said the woman was shot in the wrist, and was able to tell officers that two people attempted to rob them, then fired shots and drove off in Burris’s car.
Officers said it appeared that the robbers did not know the victims and targeted them at random.
«This was not a random act of violence,» she said. «I think that there’s people that know something and they need to come forward and need to tell the truth. My little boy didn’t deserve this.»
Around 7:30 a.m., officers told Channel nine they found the vehicle that was stolen from the victims, on Rupert Lane, not far from the apartment sophisticated.
Eyewitness News observed as police roped off the car with crime gauze and examined it for evidence before towing it away.
