Today, the government will unveil its air quality strategy, which aims to clampdown on the harmful levels of pollution in the country.
As part of the fresh air quality rules, diesel drivers across the UK could be compelled to scrap their old polluting car.
Under the proposed scheme drivers of old ‘dirty` diesel cars would be suggested £Two,000 compensation to ditch their vehicle.

There are presently over ten million diesel vehicles on UK roads, a figure which has risen from Three.2million since 2000.
«By creating a targeted scrapped scheme the Government could help eliminate more than half of the muddiest vehicles from the worst polluting hotspots,» MP Neil Parish said.

Environment Secretary Andrea Leadsom, told MPs at the time that the Government must ensure that owners of these diesel cars are ‘not penalised` after they bought these vehicles in good faith.
The scrappage scheme could affect millions of families including many low income families who may not be able to afford to buy a fresh car.
According the Environment Secretary ‘all type of mitigation are on the table` in a bid to support these working families, in their attempt to improve air quality.
Prime Minister Theresa May also stated that it would be taken ‘into account` that British motorists were encouraged to buy diesel cars by a previous government.
Extra discounts may be made available to low-income families who cannot afford to buy a fresh car.
MP Neil Parish also suggested that alternative means of transport could be made available to diesel drivers coerced to ditch their car including a ‘public transport ticket, a car club membership or rail season ticket or cleaner transport like a fresh bicycle.`
Nitrogen dioxide emissions, that are very present in diesel harass fumes, account for almost 40,000 deaths in the UK very year.
