“We’ve just returned from the auto demonstrate! It was our very first time visiting and we loved it – my son said it was way better than the Toronto demonstrate which he found fairly staggering. We visited all of the tents and then had a fabulous lunch, which we thought was very good value and very tasty.”

“I would just like to say thanks to you and your students for putting on a excellent demonstrate on the weekend. My son and I meticulously loved it. I have attended the Toronto international display many times, but stopped going a few years ago, as it is SO large and gruelling (especially with children in tow). Your display has a ‘just right’ feel to it. I’m looking forward to next year. Thanks again.”

“My hubby and I attended the Georgian College Auto Showcase and both of us were so amazed with the calibre of students in the Automotive program. They answered all our questions, were polite and showcased excellent customer service abilities and displayed a professional appearance.”

“Just desired to tell you how struck we were with the auto display. It was the very first one we ever attended we thought the event was excellent. I was also pleased with all the accessibility features. The wooden stairs placed on the grassy slope were a fine idea. The best part of all was the chance to attempt a lot of cars. We ended up buying a Kia product yesterday and that was a direct result of attempting one of their cars at the demonstrate.”

Student Director, Marketing and Media Relations

Daniel Montesanti – ABSC degree student, fourth year

I was born and raised in Aurora, Ont., and I have been in love with cars ever since I was a child. I received a two-year business diploma at another Ontario college and found out about the ABSC program when applying for degrees. As soon as I eyed the Automotive Business School of Canada, I knew right away that’s what I wished to specialize in. I have been working in the automotive industry for over five years, for the majority of the time at Volkswagen, both at the dealer and corporate level. This program has given me the chance to network with a lot of people and I cannot wait to get out there and work in this massive industry! I have participated in two previous Georgian College auto shows. In 2015, I was the co-captain for Volkswagen and in 2016, I was captain for team Volkswagen. I am ecstatic to finish my years here at Georgian College as one of the directors for the auto showcase, using what I have learned from past shows and working with my colleagues. We can make this the best Georgian Auto Display yet!

Student Director, Student Practice

Jonathan Smeenk – ABSC degree student, fourth year

I am utterly excited to be taking on the role of director of student practice in the two thousand seventeen Georgian College Auto Demonstrate! I am from Chatham-Kent, a petite southwestern community inbetween London and Windsor, Ont. Ever since I can reminisce I have been crazy in love with cars. I very first heard about the Automotive Business School of Canada through an ad for the Georgian College Auto Demonstrate. As soon as I came to check it out, I knew this was the place for me. Across my time here, I have worked for Ford, Lincoln, MINI, BMW, Lexus, Subaru and Mazda at a dealership, head office or auto display levels. I have taken part in the Georgian College Auto Display every year so far, very first as an ambassador, then as a team captain, and I am enormously excited to be a director for this coming year. I am sultry about ensuring everyone I work with has an awesome practice, and I am looking forward to working with each and every student who participates in the auto showcase this year.

After I am done my studies at Georgian College, my long-term aim is to become a dealer principal of a dealer group that spreads all via Canada. I love the dealership environment, and to be able to manage a dealership with a brand that I am sultry about would be a desire come true.

Student Director, Site Management and Logistics

Bogdan Tofan-Petre – ABSC degree student, fourth year

I was raised mainly in Europe, more precisely Romania. I also lived in France for a number of years, which gave me the chance to learn a few languages along the way. Having a previous college diploma in sales management, I dreamed to get into an industry that would be associated with my passion for cars, which has always been in me as long as I can recall.

Longing for Canada where I lived a bit in the ’90s and returning to explore at a school which is a leader became a brainy budge.

Being at the ABSC, I feel I am truly where I belong, among the best of the best. As a fourth-year degree student, I cannot express in such brief space the practice, skill and relationships this school has to suggest its students.

My very first time participating in the Georgian College Auto Demonstrate was back in two thousand fifteen as co-captain for Hyundai and in 2016, as captain for them. These practices resulted in a tremendous learning and private growth journey as I developed my organizational, discipline and human abilities.

This made me want to become even more involved in the display, to put forward fresh ideas and stimulate a positive switch for years to come. We believe as a team that this year will be very special as we are celebrating thirty two years of auto demonstrate existence!

Looking forward to working with my colleagues to make this a Georgian success!

Student Director, Customer Practice

I was born and raised here in Barrie, Ont. Growing up, I had constant exposure to both the fresh and used vehicle sales and the aftermarket side of the auto industry through my family’s business. This caused me to have a lifelong affection for anything with a motor. I embarked my postsecondary education at university majoring in history and sociology. It was not the right fit for me, however, and I then transferred to Georgian for the Automotive Business program after being told about it by a family member. After one semester, I knew I had made the right choice. I have since finished the two-year ABSC diploma program and am now on the way to completing the degree. In my time here, I have participated in two auto shows. In my very first demonstrate, I was an ambassador for Ford. In my 2nd display, I was co-captain of Mercedes-Benz. Since my very first day at the ABSC, I knew that I desired to practice one of the auto display director positions and now I eventually have this chance as the two thousand seventeen director of customer practice! My passion is in making sure all the fine details are in place in order to ensure that everything goes ideally and that every customer that comes through our gates has an awesome practice and wants to come back for years to come. After I graduate from this program, I hope to find a job at the corporate level with a luxury brand such as Porsche in order to fully challenge myself. I am looking forward to working with my fellow directors to make sure that the two thousand seventeen Georgian Auto Display is better than ever and I look forward to witnessing everybody there!

Student Director, Spectacle and Sponsorship

Jason Westelaken- ABSC degree student, fourth year

I am from Wallacetown, Ont., a puny rural area west of London. Born and raised on a farm, I have a passion for entrepreneurship with glances of possessing my own business one day. Upon learning about ABSC, I knew instantaneously this program was the flawless fit for me. The chance to work while studying gives me both the skill and practice needed when I graduate to be successful in the automotive industry. I love to talk to others about my program choice and what about it makes it pleasurable for me. What fuels me is to inspire others and instruct them about the ABSC program and all the opportunities it has to suggest. This is my fourth year participating in the auto showcase, with previous practice as an ambassador for Hyundai, Mazda and Kia. I cannot wait to get involved in the two thousand seventeen Georgian College Auto Demonstrate and provide my thoughts and ideas as the director of spectacle and sponsorship!
